What do you do

When the romance is over

And the love has gone

When your heart breaks to pieces

Leaving you wonder what went wrong

You tear and lament

You mourn and berate

You feel guilt of failure

Weighing your heart down

You close your eyes

Hoping to stop the flood

Hoping that the pain 

From the pieces of your heart

Would just go away

You could sleep forever 

Never to wake again

You are left wondering

If you are the reason to blame

But realise that’s it’s no one to blame

Cause people don’t always 

Remain the same

And change is the only constant 

The name of the game

It’s better to put an end

Than drag it on

Cause it’s difficult to flog a horse

After it’s dead dead and gone

So rather than allow it take a toll

And turn unhealthy and toxic 

It’s better to let go

No matter how hard it may seem

So what do you do

When the romance has ended

And the love has gone

You try to mend your broken heart

Heal and move on

Cause life goes on
