The Blinkers of Life

How often do we find ourselves with our blinkers on, blinding us from the world around us. So focused on a point ahead leaving oblivious to the happenings in the world around us.

There’s nothing wrong in being focused on a goal, it gives life meaning and purpose. But at the same time, life needs to be experienced completely. It is an opportunity that needs to be made the most of. At times we find ourselves so focused that we forget to soak in the experience. We forget who we truly are.

How often do we find ourselves focused on making a living, working for every penny, letting work and finance become the centre of life and in the bargain forgetting to live. How often do we spend a lifetime trying to provide for our families, for the mouths that we have to feed that we forget we have own lives to live.

How often we focus on maintaining an outward appearance that we forget who truly we are, forgetting to live life the way we need to live it, our true identity. Instead we find ourselves wearing a mask to hide away from the world and society cause we are afraid they wouldn’t accept us.

In love we live for each other, do things for each other. Although we two maybe one but in the end the relationship is made up of two individuals who need to do things for themselves as they do for each other. The space and ME time.

How often do we try to breathe life into that which has long since gone. Trying to grasp at thin air hoping that there is something there, something that we can hold on to. In the bargain we loose all the opportunities that life has to offer, to move on to a better place.

It’s time we remove our blinkers and experience life the way it was meant to be. Life is beautiful and there so much it has to offer, don’t let it go to waste. Stay focused but at the same time soak in life’s experience, be aware of the world around you and what life has to offer you. No matter how tough your life may be, you’ll find a way to make it better.
