Perks of Growing Older

They say that age is just name. Well that's not exactly a lie, it is just what someone says to console themselves. Let's face it, we are all want to be young and good looking, not ready to embrace the wrinkles and the ticking numbers. But hey there's a positive side to it too.

To begin with you are growing older, at least you are moving up the ladder of something. People expect you to be mature, but people also believe that you get a bit senile with age. So you can go all cuckoo and people will expect it from you. With age comes forgetfulness, so if you forget something or an important date, you can always blame your fading grey cells.

There's a certain charm and appeal and sexiness about older men and their grey hair or silver hair. How else would they come with a corny dialogue like "Who's your Daddy?" (and not Arun Gawli).

People will finally treat with you with at least some respect, maybe even offer offer you their seat, or you can sit at the seat meant for older people and not get stared at.

There's many perks of growing older. You can enjoy the senior citizen discounts. A runner friend pointed this out to to me, after a race, Kuch he saal aur aap Senior category main aajayenga, phir aapko podium zaroor mil jayenga. Yipee, assured podium finish.

One very important thing for all is Bachelors, as you grow older, aunties will stop being after you asking when you're getting married, by now they have given up all hope of wearing their special dress for your wedding, or necklace, whatever they have been saving up for your happy day.

I know I know, these are all for the 60 plus and we are not truly there yet, but hey we'll get get someday. So we don't have to go all Joey about growing older.

So here's to a number that keeps adding up as the years go by... here's to maturing like good wine... or single malt... here's to growing older....
